Planning permission exists for the fishery lakes and small club house/canteen plus the special cliff top walks with hides. We hope soon to obtain permission for a much more suitable combined canteen/lecture hall and toilets. Site warden’s accommodation is also vital for safety purposes and diving facilities are needed.
The plans are for a visitor centre able to seat fifty people for meals and lectures. Of modern construction, it will enjoy views over the landscaped water features, as well as wider views to the north, west and south.
Outside we propose a courtyard style toilet block with a shower and toilets large enough for both disabled users and baby changing facilities.
We hope to obtain permission for several small day cabins, similar to beach huts overlooking the inland lakes, for those that have a specific need to rest up during their day out.

Dawn and dusk viewing on a lake is often very different from daytime patterns, with sunrise and sunset flights and the haunting cries of wildfowl echoing across the water as night gently settles in. It is almost a different product entirely and yet few reserves have witnessed the experience. We hope to stay open longer for several days of the week to share this experience.
